UNTIL PROVEN RECYCLED
Greenwashing is damaging our planet. Learn how false recycling claims hurt the environment and what we can do to combat it
Good news for butterflies in the UK: Their numbers have risen to a number last counted in 2019. One of the reasons could be this year’s warm and humid summer.
The most numerous butterfly species was the Red Admiral, followed by the Gatekeeper and the Large White. Even though numbers have risen this year, the overall count of many butterfly species have been facing dramatic declines over the last 10 to 15 years. In Germany for example, this year’s counts were disappointing, with a record low of moths counted, pointing again to the monitored downward trend of insects in general.
The Big Butterfly Count is conducted once a year by volunteers and run by Butterfly Conservation. If you want to participate next year, check out their website!
